The fabric is exceptionally high-quality, comparatively heavy, and far superior to mass-produced alternatives from Asia. Each jacket is handcrafted in Germany with meticulous attention to detail, making every piece unique.
• The outside of the jacket is made from high-quality boiled wool, which is naturally water-repellent thanks to the lanolin content. Even when wet, it retains up to 80 % of its warmth – ideal for staying protected in the cold, damp conditions. 
• Grey loden trims the inside hems for added wind protection and adds stylish contrasts at the collar and hood.
• The straight cut of the Wool Essentials Active Wear Jacket provides a loose fit for comfort on any adventure. The high-quality boiled wool is more elastic than loden, making it ideal for activities involving a lot of movement.

Why a functional jacket made from virgin wool?

• High quality: Finest virgin wool comes from the first shearing of the sheep, making it particularly pure, fresh and natural — it is neither recycled nor chemically treated. The long fibres are highly durable, elastic and soft.
• Excellent temperature regulation: The breathable virgin wool keeps you warm when it’s cold and cool when it’s warm – and it absorbs moisture without that clammy feeling.
• Self-cleaning and odour-repellent: The natural creatine structure of wool breaks down odour molecules and inhibits bacterial growth. Its lanolin coating repels dirt – the jacket stays fresh longer and needs far less washing than conventional functional clothing.
• Sustainable: Pure virgin wool is a natural, renewable and biodegradable raw material.
• Elasticity and shape retention: Virgin wool is crease-resistant and returns to its original shape after stretching. Clothing made from virgin wool retains its shape and looks good for a long time.

Care instructions

• The Wool Essentials Active Wear Jacket is very easy to clean. Airing it out overnight is usually sufficient.
• Dirt can be gently brushed out with a clothes brush.
• Dab stains with a damp cloth; do not rub them into the material.
• For larger, more stubborn stains, the jacket can be gently hand washed in lukewarm water. If necessary, add a small amount of wool detergent (preferably organic and free from additives), rinse thoroughly (do not wring or rub), carefully squeeze out excess water and leave to dry flat on a terry towel with the zippers closed. Otherwise, the elasticated material may become deformed.
• If necessary, steam the jacket horizontally with a steam iron or steamer. Steaming neutralises odours, refreshes the shape, removes creases, and leaves the fabric looking smooth and neat. Steaming instead of washing is often sufficient, which extends the life of the jacket and protects the environment. Caution: Always steam from a distance or use a cloth, avoid direct contact with the hot soleplate!
• To keep moths away, store the clean jacket in a tight cotton or linen garment bag, preferably with natural fragrances such as cedar wood or lavender.
• Do not wash in a regular washing machine cycle and never tumble dry!
